The new facelifted Toyota RAV4 is set to debut in a few days at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show and images showing the new vehicle uncovered just leaked.
The new styling revealed in the photos brings the crossover in line with the rest of Toyota’s lineup. Perhaps the most striking revelation, Toyota seems to have axed the car’s optional third-row seat.
Rumors also suggest that the RAV4 may lose its V6 option, and use only a selection of inline-four cylinder engines. A hybrid variant is also likely in the works.
The RAV4 will make its official debut this Thursday at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show.
It's there - just a different name. Who buys a crossover for it's sportiness anyways?
People who think its sporty. I'd say only Mazda has the most "credible" "sporty" CUVs on the market. They actually handle decent for what they are. As far as mainstream CUVs go. I know there are higher end performance ones that do have performance.
its all marketing! You see "sport" or SE on almost anything. Heck there's a "S" Corolla Its just badges, spoilers etc. Woot for marketing!!
Then again with Akio at the helm maybe the sporty RAV4 will actually have decent handling.

True as time goes on Toyota is doing a little more. Like I said with Akio at the helm I'm sure it will be more "credible." But certainly no speed demon or canyon carver. That's fine, its not supposed to be, he just wants to add flavor to the driving of an otherwise dull car. They are mass market cars so its a mild tuning. But you know that
Of course most customers are oblivious and don't really care they just see the "SE" and go wow my car is sporty when in reality its not. Just added flavor. I know Toyota isn't the only one.
