Movies?

How about a place w/ lots of movies of members or just cool videos?
Like drifting video, Auto-X, 12 second car, Etc.

well someone said they were going to do one like a year ago and never did anything...Me and sean are making vids some time this weekend so i mean that will be cool because its seans car doing sweet stuff

The thing about movies, is that they are VERY bandwidth intensive, and our goal is to keep TN as fast and accessible to all the members as possible. We wouldn't want to compromise something like that.... but our eyes are always open to possibilities where we can increase the amount of data we push out by adding new features such as downloadable movies.

^maybe not hosted by Tn. Hosted by else where and we can dl off them. But yah that is true. Some forums get very slow w/ all the pics and vids.

hey....i may be able to help with that soon....im assisstant webmaster at http://trybalink.net and if all goes according to planned we will hopefully get a HUGE server soon. If we do, would you guys be willing to maybe pay a few bucks a month or what

Depending on the price of the bandwidth you can offer, and the size of your servers backbone connection, we can definitely discuss it. Once its all ready and setup, let me know and we can discuss it further.

Could we do temporary video hosting? I know there is some other site that does it.

But we could keep a limit on it. Maybe 5-10 videos up at a time. And put a 20day limit on them or something. Or whatever you decide. A size limit of course. Maybe resolution size.

But then people who don't have server size bandwidth could upload them and have them be viewable for long enough for people to see.

well....from what i hear we will be getting a P4 system with like 100 gigs of space and 1500 gigs of bandwidth

so ill have to see how its coming but its gonna rock

We could do a "host your own/post a link here" movie section.
We'd prolly end up with a but load of dead links in the long run tho. If we could cycle them off the third page (once it hits pg3 we kill it)...

Do you mean 1.5T of bandwidth?



If you meant to say 1.5G... I can tell you from personal experience that it is very easy to blow through a gig of bandwidth by coming here and posting just a single link to a 20M vid. It took like two days for me in one instance.

Oh I know how many people. I just don't know what your current bandwidth is

And the video wouldn't have to be intergrated into the forum. It could just be a link to it. And if you look at the thread views, not everyone looks at every post

But I'll just assume we still don't have the space for that
