Login question

A few weeks ago I erased my hard drive and started over. Since then, when I bring up this site I am occasionally asked to log in. Not all the time, maybe 1/2 of the time. Sometimes the site remembers my name, but still wants the password and other times it wants both name and password. The "remember me" box is checked. Is this a new feature of the site, or did I screw something up?

[so what if I have to hit a few keys now and then...lol]

My problem is in remembering the password.

[there my be a small bug in ur pc too...scan it..]

May be, but it didn't start until after I had completely wiped the hard drive and reloaded most of my programs.

[It used to do that to me on an older version of firefox.]

Interesting possibility, but I think I am using the latest version of firefox.

I'm not too concerned. If it happens often enough I will be able to remember my password. Can't do that on most other sites. I have been told that memory is the second thing to go. Don't remember what is first.

I got your answer. When firefox asked you "do you want firefox to remember your login?" Did you you click "yes", "no", or never for this site? If you click "yes" then it will ocassionally do that. If you click never for this site, then it won't do that.

How do you guys like firefox so far?? is it really that much better or safer? or is it just like IE, still prone to all the crap out there.

I don't let the computer remember my passwords, so that apparently is not my problem.

As for REN69's question--I changed to firefox several months ago and have been very happy with it. Since I never had any really bad experience with IE, I can't honestly say it is better or safer. I changed for a couple of reasons--1) it is reportedly safer and 2) I'd just as soon use as much non-Microsoft software as I can without going to the electronic etch-a-sketch, aka Apple.

Have you reset firefox and tried what I said at least? Only reason I'm asking is because I had this EXACT problem when I upgraded firefox.

I always click "never" for remembering passwords. Early this afternoon I upgraded to the latest version (1.0.4) of firefox. Time will tell whether the problem still exists.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep it in mind for the future.

The built in pop-up blocker is great. I think thats what saves me from viruses more than anything. If something pops up it won't allow it and just kinda stores it up top.... then you can sort through and see if you want to open them or not. All other popup blockers i've seen are bull shit compared to firefox's. I like it because it doesn't run all the time.... only when firefox is open. If you are using dialup... I wouldn't recommend firefox because it loads pictures slower than dialup does. Instead of loading as data comes in.... it loads when hte data is complete. If you are on broadband you want even notice a difference
