Avatar auto image scale

Is there some way you could set it up so that when someone uploads an avatar image that it automatically scales the imagine down to either 40 x 40 or 80 x 80 (for supreme members).
Ive got a image that Id like to use as an avatar but I cant get it shrunk down enough so that it will fit within the 80 x 80 limit.
Fuji Finepix viewer wont let me shrink it down that far. The smallest I can go is 120 x 120.
Thanks
Cap'n

post up the picture. and someone can resize it for you...

the problem with automatic resizeing is if you have a pictures say 500 x 150 and it automatically gets resized to 40 x40....most (if not everyone) wont know what the hell the picture is suppose to be.

very easy to do..(lol..when i finally figured it out)

if you are on a pc....Paint will do it for you.

1. make sure you saved to comp as .jpg
2. open in paint
3. copy the image
4. go up to the menu bar clik on image>> clik on attributes and change the size there.
5. if your image is cropped at the wrong place, this is where you paste your copied image and drag the image until you get the visual you want.
6. save and up load to your host and then do the rest of what's needed

resize if you want too..the entire image and then follow step three down
