Suggestion for a new 20+ forum
I don't know where to post this other than here, but I'd like to suggest that a new forum be started for owners of older Toyotas. I, for example, own two 24 year old Corollas. Having older cars like these raises its own set of issues in terms of maintenance, repair, and especially in getting parts since Toyota seems to disown any cars older than 20 years (they no longer even have the part numbers in their catalogs). Owners of cars this old also tend to have a different attitude towards their cars since they really are a labor of love to keep them running. Many of the TN posts I read for the newer cars seem to be focussed on customizing them, and even many repaoir questions are dealing with a different technology. Personally I'm not so much interested in talking about the Corolla as I am in talking about working with older cars in general. Many of the issues would be the same regardless of the model. In order to do this now I have to sort through the various model-specific forums to try and find the posts referring to cars older than, let's say, the introduction of fuel injection. I also have resources like manuals and experience that I am willing to share, but right now it isn't easy finding those in need.
