Cressida Forum.

I think we should move the Cressida forum out of the "other Toyotas" section, and move it with the other car forums. The Cressida was a great car, that was known for it's reliability, and it's like a Toyota legend. The Supra is there with them so why can't the Cressida forum be moved too? It needs to be recognized.

There's not enough activity. I suggested a Cressida section a while back... and we got it

Though it's a little embarassing to be sitting next to Tercel and Paseo, but I'm not complaining.

There's probably not enough activity because no one knows about it. I doubt many people own Supras, but it's with the other cars. Other Toyotas should be cars that weren't here long like the Corona, Starlet, & Paseo. The Tercel probably should be moved too, because it was a popular car, but the Cressida is more important.

I think we'll do this... just give us a little time to think about how we will re-organize the model specific forums once this happens.

Yeah, so much more important

Besides you, me, and the recent arrival of fellow Cressida Forums admin 92MX83 (I'm just a humble Supermod there), the three of us are the only commoner Cressida people here on TN. And 92MX83 doesn't even post outside of the Cressida section, as far as I know.

Believe me, there are many more Supra owners here. I frequent the Supra forum enough to know that. Definately enough to warrant its own section.

I call first dibbs on a moderating position if there's a full-out Cress section, however j/k, that's up to the TN staffers.

We probably are the most informed members of the Cressida. but I didn't know about the Cressida forum until a few days after I joined, so if a big Cressida nut like me can miss it, then we have a problem.

I don't directly promote the other Cressida forum anywhere on TN. Usually I'll just give a link to information that's relevant.

Now look, I still don't mean to flame, but in terms of informedness, there's the head gasket issue that you believe to not exist. It's a BIIIIG part of the Cressida world. Read up on it

Yeah, the 7M's in general.

Any "M" series motor actually, it just seems to be much more frequent in the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE.

I don't have a 7M-GTE vehicle. But my granparents had it in their 90, and it never had the problem. How can you tell a head gasket is blow anyway?

Long story short: you'll know.

The 7M-GE is quite succeptable as well.

You have the 5M-GE in your '84. Head gaskets do blow on them, just not with the same frequency and certainty.

Well can the car run with it blown, or will it not work at all? Even if those engines had problems, ours has been fine since it was new, so I think it's safe to say ours isn't going to blow anytime soon, and if it does it could be attributed to age.

It'll run, but you'll know.

It's never to late or soon to have your first BHG. It'll happen. Just a matter of when. It could be way long from now. It could be tomorrow.
