dont know if has been suggested before, but how about "camry of the month" I joined an intrepid forum yesterday because my friend needs her oil changed and she has no owners manual so I went to the dodge forum and pmed a mod asking for the amount to use and what type of oil. still no answer. they arent as cool and quick to respond as tn members. But they had this intrepid of the month and all the other members could vote and they get a little feature on the home page. thought it was a neat idea for here. btw... does anyone know how much oil and what kind for a gen1 (1995) v6 intrepid? i'd search but this dialup speed is soooooooooooooooooo damn slow and driving me insane!!!!! pm me or post up here the info. Thanks everyone
LOL. We should also have the CRESSIDA of the month.

I like the idea.. but to keep it fair you can't only be picked "ride of the month" once a year. If you get it Jan. you aren't eligable till next Jan. This way we get a nice assortment of rides.
Seriously dude... Your friend should be smacked.... PMing a Mod to ask how much oil? You couldn't get a more stupid noob question I wouldn't respond to a question like that either.
Start with 4.5Q, then add as needed (you know, reading that little dipstick thing that says "oil"). But seriously, that's just common sense 5w-30 is good for most all engines except Diesel and a few rare ones (it almost always says on the cap what kind of oil it takes...)
As for Camry of the Month, I say a BIG We don't have too many really nice cars on the forum. After a while, the standard will lower and we will put up cars with just a tiny bit of work done, and then it will get sad like those honda fprums that post up pics of cars with rims on the rear and steelies on the front. It would only be good for a few months...

it might work if it wasnt just camrys. maybe a thead where people could nominate themselves, an a picture of their car. and then a thread to vote which one gets it for the month...
If the idea does get serious consideration by the powers that be, I'd like to see it extended to all TN members and not just Camrys. There are tons of nice cars on TN I wouldn't mind learning a bit more about.
I know the mods and admins are very busy with their other duties that this project won't likely take off without the help of a volunteer. I suggest ppl put modesty aside and submit personal writeups to mods. Maybe have a set layout ie. max. 5pics, Interior mods, Exterior mods, Engine mods, ICE, Future plans.
This idea would, without a doubt, give others the impression that a vehicle is only cool if it has performance and visually-enhancing modifications. To me I think my stock Camry is perfect. I don't need someone else judging my vehicle and saying it ain't. I could take the best pictures in the world and still not get any complements because some rich teenager was able to add an expensive stereo system that holds a thousand CDs and shatters glass at max volume.
I could only see this idea working if there were two sections--best modified vehicle and best stock vehicle. That way the people who took their time making their cars "pimp" would be complemented, and those who don't modify their vehicle can still get rated highly in their own separate section.
Stock vehicles are so underrated

Then in that respect someone who can afford to have a decked out 4runner should win that category. I think the idea behind ride of the month is to celebrate someone who has put time money and sweat into his/her ride so that it can be something different and something that they can be proud of.
