well if you can change the oil and breaks your more than good for this job. all you have to have is a wrench and and detention the belt and then remove it then the alternator it self. and maybe you should take it to a shop and have it tested to see if it's not the regulator i'm not too sure on how to test those. but then install is the reverse of taking it out, if you get a new unit then you have to make sure you take the tentoner off the old one or else it wount mount and it's not easy to bolt on while still in the car.
