When im not messing with cars, i rig offshore race/pleasure boats for a living. Basically we get the boat as a bare hull and do all the wiring & fabrication to get it in working order. For some customers we also do the testing and setup.
We just finished this boat, it's a twin engine 32' catamaran with 1400+ hp and a speed of 150+ mph.
Holy Fakkk! That would be a fun boat to race in, pretty much useless for anything else, but who cares. Should tell the owner to stop being a cheap skate and put in a turbine engine.
Holy hell! I love it!! I WANT ONE!!! Bet those engine sound mighty nice when there revved up and going!!! Ive seen a few of these types of boats at local boating shows...there very loud!
holy shit! i love the gauge work man... all this explains some of your camry supercharger aspirations haha
what is with the dual tachs? and looks like some of the other gauges are repeats? - is that for the twin motors?
There are just about two of everything in the boat. Notice the throttles on the center column, each motor is hand controlled, you have to check your tachs when jumping water so you dont overrev the motors.

I'd love to do one of these with turbines but it's overkill for such a small light boat. It's a fully vacuum bagged epoxy / kevlar hull which is extremely rigid but also LIGHT. This is actually the first pleasure boat that ive rigged, everything else is full race. You could race this but the motors dont allow it to fit into any of the major classes.
Hell yeah, Sparco seats are some of the strongest seats on the market and they are FIA approved. We have used other seats but these are the best for their price.
Pleasure boat...so he doesn't race it...and just drives it around the lake/ocean like ferrari owners drive around the block?
And i noticed that the driver doesn't have any gauges... he steers and the passenger controls the engines?
He might do a poker run with it which is a bunch of rich guys who take their boats out and run from spot to spot picking up poker cards. Whoever has the best hand at the last stop wins. But most of these top of the line boats are just for fun, to go zipping around the lake or whatever.
Two people control these types of boats. One is the driver and the other is the throttleman. You can drive on flat water with one person but rough water you need two. Its next to impossible to control the boat with one hand and feather the throttles when you jump a wave so you dont over rev the motors. Its also very dangerous if you are out in the big water and do not jump the waves correctly, you can stuff the boat into a wave and cause damage, either to the boat or your neck.
