My good find

I went on Craigslist to find a better job, no luck. So I looked in the personals for cute girls (just for fun). NSFW http://stlouis.craigslist.org/w4m/229644714.html Yum

So I looked at cars....

The good:

Why is this good? http://www.club240.com/forums/showth...threadid=34381

Pretty good for an '89

The bad:

The ugly:

[ I ommited some shots of the oil leak around the head ]

This was all synchronicity that led me to this car, I didn't know I was going to own a 240 so soon. Also I think it's funny we all are getting new cars at the same time, (just glad I don't have bullet holes in the windshield of MY Camry...) like when women live together and their periods sync up, LOL.

Since it's a 240sx I doubt I need to exlpain my intentions to any of you. What I'll say is this:
-All of the obvious basics + a CF solution to the trunk rust situation ( more than the pic shows )
- Swapped Ka24de(didn't expect that probably) + manual tranny.
- /\-- Built NA
-swap out "pignose" for maybe a different OEM bumper.

It will be pretty fun .

Camry on the back burner?
Not really. Nate and I are sorting things out to get some sus. and exhuast work done at Speed Source. Then I have other preperations to do before the Supercharger. The s13 will def. slow the Camry project down, but that's just progress in another area.

O, Money shot.

I bought the car for less than the amount shown, but given the condition it went to my mechanic straight away.

the condition looks alrite, but i wouldn't buy it if it were me.. too much cosmetic damage, and oil leaking from the headgasket is never a good sign...

but it's all good since u're swapping in a new motor... but y an NA KA24de? an SR20det with some upgrades would make a lot more power for a lil more $$

Thanks
The driver side door and quarter panels have large dents/scrathes from the previous owners wife backing into it, twice. The pics are very forgiving about that. The nose has scratches too if you look hard

SOHC, yes. that's why I want the DE. There is no SOHC badge or indication that I found except for the 12 valve thing I took a picture of.

DarkSide - I don't want the SR or CA motors. If I deeply need to I can make a KA-T and still have 2.4L on an iron block. Also, if everybody is going left I usually go right. I mean, really I do a ton of research (see my join date vs. post amount) and come up with the thing that fits me best. But also consider I'm in St. Louis, the 240 is kinda rare here, I never really see them. I could only find 5 for sale withing 250 miles of my home and this one was the best deal.

About the cosmetic damage - don't forget the story of the ugly duckling, who grew into a beautiful swan. (People are like that too.)

I see a few from time to time ... pretty much every time I'm out in the county (west & south). There's a nasty rusty hooked up white one rollin around south city too. I always see it at the Autozone on Big Bend south of Manchester.

LOL

Sorry for putting that. I came across it and thought it was funny, then I puked.

As far as people not liking the body damage.... The two dents in the door and rear quarter panel will be expensive to fix, sustained. BUT, the rust on the trunk is a good thing because it forces me to get a CF replacement ($600 - plus shipping/install) and that won't be vastly more expensive than just replacing it with a stock one and having it painted.

It's a project car Einstein. I already hinted at the manual swap.
And what do you mean I payed for it? You would have stolen it perhaps?
Here in St. Louis guys like you get their ass kicked for saying needlessly flaming comments. You could have pointed it out in a more classy way.

Both of my cars are faster than yours. Nice steelies by the way.
