Hey guys, initial plan was to buy a ~1989 240sx, but couldn't find any in my (cheap) price range. Well, instead I bought a Toyota.
1990 Corolla GTS to be exact, just under 400,000km on body, 80,000km on rebuilt engine. New exhast(2.5" piping), 1 10" rockford fosgate punch sub, clarion amp, 15" CSA 5 Spoke rims, yokohama rubber.
The car's underbody is rediculously clean. No holes in floor, and the bolts for the most part come right off without breaking!!!!!!! I had to replace the flex pipe, and the ebrake cables, good experience for my first car! (im 17 )
So without further adieu, my ae92 gts:
The first 2 pictures are recent in my driveway, and the last 2 are pictures the seller took. There is some body rust n work needed, but that will come in time,
haha as for the tints, notice in the first 2 pictures that the side windows are gone? I did that. Its a bitch in colder weather, for the 2 side windows I just used a razor (regret that, didnt read up on tint removal ) The rear window is going to be scary. With all the defroster lines...yikes, should be fun.
As of now, my plans are to just get the thing on the road (PS* Anyone with connections that can get my a safety and etest in ontario forged, I will pay good money) Then come summer, do bondo/fiberglass work to repair rust. Get sunroof working or just fill it for good with a sheet of metal. Then a paintjob, breaks in the future(once cash comes in steadily from summer job). I was also thinking that when I do the bondo work, maybe mold the sideskirts to the body for a cleaner look...but that might not look good, we will see.
Thats about it. It is a fun car to drive, and I am please with my first purchase(got it cheap too :P )
I found a 1985 celica gt for sale in my area, do you recommend I try to sell this car and then get that one instead. It has less body work needed, and will pass the safety forsure.....

What a dilema
The Celica is definitely a classic. Body work is usually more work than it looks. Rust never goes away.. See if u can switch... If u don't ... still.. congratulations !!
Just took her around the block for a few laps...I dont think I can sell her. Too close to me haha.
So yeah body work is needed, aswell as a new muffler (this ones to f*ckin loud, not my style), and its official, I am keeping her, unless I can find a buyer for it for about $900obo.
Shes my baby, and will be until she dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey thanks, too bad thats not the only rust spot :S
sorry bout blur, that was just taken like 10 minutes ago.
That and there is rust on both doors in the lower corner furthest away from the hinge. Kinda shitty but what ever. For the price I got it at, it could be worse.
Underbody is clean, I can get a day shot if you guys want. The underbody is rediculously clean considering.
PS I havea problem. When I drive, the odometer rises to fast. Like for the trip odo. it rises so fast. I cant explain it. The numbers just rise too damn fast.... :S

Lol when i bought my first car when i was 17 (a corolla) i did the same thing. I first bought it and had the plans to drop a new engine and stuff. After working on it a couple times the little things wrong with it, and all the work it needed it pissed me off and i didn't even wanna touch it. Then i decided to work with what i had, and make it safetieable. In the mean time i looked at other cars to buy...now it's about 8 months later and the cars stripped and i have a silvertop sitting in my garage until i can get my hoist...lol
every 17 yr old guy i've known (who doesnt have alot of $$) and buys a car goes through buyers remorse...lol
^ true that. I just took what my parents gave me...but friends of mine who went out and got their own cars new or used always go through so many regrets and never stop bitching to me.
