Here is one pic of my current retro. It consists of color moded s2k's AP1. It is basically ready to go other than waiting to have the jb weld completely cure and having to seal the headlamps up and put it back on the car. Other than that i gotta mount the ballasts and voila done. Pics of the final project will be up ASAP
HE said shroud....i know its off a BMW....not sure what series(i think its an e60 shroud)
darkmastyr: i had a thread awhile back....basically what i did was cut out the back half out, and jb welded a sheet metal plate with mounting holes. I made the holes elongated so that when i aimed with the projectors on the car i could adjust for rotation. I i think my left headlight might be a bit off....so we'll see once the final prokect is done. Usually i would take the time to fix it and make it as close to perfect...but i was tired of waiting for this project to see some time on the road.
^^haha... my bad... all the threads i've clicked on always says s2k projectors :p
Hehe, no prob.
Yeah, the S2K's are definitely pretty much the best projectors. Only problem is that they are one of the hardest projectors to mount. I talked to Webb26 last night and he even told me that if he ever does another retrofit, no way in hell is he gonna get another set of S2Ks, because even though the output is awesome, it was just a major pain in the ass to mount and secure.
On the other hand, the TSX are the most popular projectors because they are fully enclosed, don't necessarily require a shroud (outside of styling purposes), and have one of the best outputs of all projectors (short of S2Ks, LS430s, and a few others). In addition to that, the TSX has a built-in mounting bracket. Very easy to retrofit.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Mike...you nailed it right on the head. S2k's are awesome....but you have to know what youa re geting yourself into. It wasn't hard to mount to the relfector...but it was most difficult trying to make it fit in behind the reflector and before the headlight housing. Since the tsx's have the mounting bracket...it makes it soo much easier to mount and not worry about the bolts hitting the back....but since i have some experience...doing another s2k will be more exciting....i'm almost tempted to do s2k's with some projector halogen high beam, ...but we'll see how content i will be with my retro by tomorrow...and for sure i will be doing more with my car...maybe even my dads 93 mr2
