If the vin said ex and see no vtec motor in it then that could mean two things, original motor blew up and replaced with the cheapest one they could find or vin is totally wrong.
Does it have rear disc brakes? EX models came with rear disc brakes but I'm not too sure about the 2000 model but I know before that only EX models got rear disc brakes.

i believe the generation civic he has, ex or not, still had drum brakes in the rear....
the only civic of that generation body style of his that has disc rear brakes is the 1999-2000 civic si?

All the wires in the engine bay were from some strobes, washer lights and fogs that no longer work. Took care of all those 2day. If the car doesn't sell as quick as I would like it to, I'll swap out the tails and remove the wing.
the seats look like they're out of the next gen civic after that one.
otherwise, i like that little car. it's not that bad
