I meet up with a group of toyotas today from yotatech to head up to the Sunflower area just north of Phoenix. All in all there where 8 rigs:
1 Landcruiser
1 Solid Axle Tacoma
1 1st Ger 4runner
1 2nd Gen 4runner
1 Toyota pickup (pre-tacoma)
4 3rd Gen 4runners (two stock and two built)
This is one of those trails that you can't give a crap about your paint due to tight areas. Unfortunately, I didn't learn that until it was to late. This trail isn't meant for full-size rigs. Overall, it was a fun and I learned alot. The only problems I had was I had no locker and crappie tires. Plus, I put a nice dent in my gas tank skid plate.
I also learned a few things today.
1. Patience is a virtue.
2. Correct tire placement, along with picking a good line
3. A lockers comes in handy, to bad I don't have one yet.
4. A stock 4runner does pretty good built ones do better
5. Steve's little red truck does awesome (the pre-tacoma pictured)
6. Spotters really help
7. Time to experiment with different waxes to help with those dang pin stripes (yes, I'm anal about my paint, but it's too late now. Oh, well :hillbill: )
Here are a few pictures:
