one hot ferrari

Well as they say Ferraris are fire breathing monsters.... otoh this is a very sad sight to see coz back in the Philippines you rarely get to see a ferrari and when you do get to see one it's either in a car show or in a gray market dealership... so imagine the look on my face when I stumbled upon this image in the forum pages of motioncars.com of the Philippines....

from wikipedia:
The F430 has displayed a notable engine irradiation problem for early model years. This issue regards an engine-overheating flaw which caused a fire in the engine bay, usually leading to the destruction of the car. The catalyst for the fire is the sustained high-RPM work of the engine. The massive heat exhaust flowing through the exhaust manifold may come in contact to a variety of hoses or oil perspiration which act as the fuel for the combustion.

One of those went past me on the highway at around 90+ mph. Quickly coming behind him was a nice STI.

Then i tried to join the chase lol.

I also saw one of those in person at a Ferarri Dealer in China.

overpriced junk, that's why you pay that kind of money, for the unsurpassed quality performance engineering. That shouldn't happen!

I never understood that about engine fires...

Why do people always OPEN the hood? It just gives the fire oxygen. It's better to close the hood and hope the fire chokes out sooner.

Ferraris are like women. Beautiful, sexy, everyone wants one, and unreliable.

chances are it would burn anyways since air can still get in through the bottom and grill, plus wind outside would also help feeding
