I like to keep the truck looking good so I wash it twice a week, even in the winter. I can't stand looking at the truck covered with salt, but washing with cold water sucks. At my last house I had a two handled outside faucet that had hot water, it was nice but it was hard to get the temperature just right...so I decided to take it a step further at this house. I decided to go with just one filter for rust. I still need to tie this into the water main with a bypass so I can still just run cold water when I water the lawn, maybe I'll be done tomorrow.
Hot water is on the left, cold on the right. They both converge into a mixing valve and the line coming out the bottom is the tempered line, set by the mixing valve, no need to keep adjusting.
I put a water hammer arrestor on the hot line (cold one I'll put on the main just in case I get some water hammer. Water then travels down through the ball valve (now closed) and then through a strainer (hopefully catching some particles) and then through a check valve (you dont want hot water syphoning into a cold line).
Then the water goes through the mixing valve and out the bottom, I also put some color co-ordinated drain valves in. Some of the wall plates had to go in **** eyed becuase either there is some really hard stone in my foundation or re-bar but my hammer drill wouldnt budge it.
Then through the filter
Once I get it running I can check the pressure and temperture.
