in a sense, I have to agree with lenny in that the blower is expensive....if I had to buy a brand new one, I don't know if I would drop the money on it. But part of the beauty of the blower too is the flat torquecurve...at no point between 3000rpm to redline am I under 200ft/lbs...pretty much just touch the throttle and go...
As for the 5sfte...I really respect a good build, but until somebody actually builds a 5sfte and runs it for a couple years at the power level that we're looking at for the same money....while still being able to compare with a overall easily usable powerband....it's not really much of a valid comparison. At the moment, a proven high powered, reliable 5sfte setup in a camry is still just a pipe dream unfortunately...hopefully somebody will complete one soon enough though...
And as much as I am satisfied with my numbers, it's still not close to the limits of the supercharger. There are people on SG who have really taken it to the limits and push 300+whp- some auto, some 5-speed...not bad considering a stock auto 1mz puts out around 150whp.
Even for myself, with the injectors in, I *should* be hitting around 270whp if not more. With meth injection...well, I don't want to speculate and disappoint myself...but 300whp isn't impossible per se
All I know is that I don't see myself going any higher with the boost though. The engine's taking a lot of abuse as it is now.
