Going with WR metallic blue. the car is galaxy gray, but if it doesnt look right, i have a can of black rustoleum high heat, it goes over anything i decided on Subaru World Rally Blue Metallic. I will do a How-To if anyone is interested. It really isnt that hard to do.
Before:
During:
(^This was base coat only)
After:
^got a little overspray, thats ok it will burn off.
^oops, more overspray...
Oh, and the newly Debadged Rear...
Should i lose the giant "H" on the back too?

yes lose the giant H on the back.. just make sure it doesnt have pegs or else you will end up with holes...
IMO the blue is a bit much, i would go with black.. could you give some basic info? im planning to do mine in a week or so..
Well, there are 3 ways you can do it.
You can take the caliper completely off and apart, this is the correct way to do it. This takes ALOT of time and you will have to bleed the brakes and top off the fluid afterwards.
#2 is to take the caliper off the rotor and remove the pads...but if you are gonna do this you might as well change pads while in there.
#3 (the way i did it), just mask and paint. dont worry about a little overspray, as it will burn off or be covered anyway. make sure if you are using a multi stage paint system (primer, base, top and clear) like i did, that its warm enough and your calipers are clean. I primed with flat black rustoleum (i had rust on mine) then i basecoated a couple days later with WR Blue Base coat, then went with WR Blue Topcoat, then the clear, the last 3 i did within 20 mins of each other, taking care not to let the paint dry all the way for maximum adhesion of the paint.

im changing my pads and rotors in a week or so so #2 will prob be my best bet.. i plan to paint them black, how many coats do you think i need? and what paint do u recommend? should i primer, paint and clearcoat also?

Depends on the environent the car is driven in, if you drive in alot of harsh conditions (I.E. SALT) then you will need a clearcoat. if not, a primer, base and topcoat should be sufficient. if you are doing black i would use Dupli-Color Engine Enamel. It resists up to 500 degrees. if you are changing the rotors and pads in a week, do it the way i did it and dont worry about
overspray on the rotors. I would do it BEFORE you change your rotors tho. FOr your situation, i would use Primer, and then DupliColor Black Engine Enamel and leave it at that
SHit, if you wanna bring the paint and scoot up to watertown NY, ill do it for ya.

There's a 3rd way... use the paint on with a brush style. I've used that in my Cressida, and it works great... no need to worry about over spray or even cover anything...
