Unhappy NO!!! Damage to my Tundra!

Oh, this is not good. I've been babying this truck for about seven months since I got it...no scratches at all....something was bound to happen . I had Sienna's carriage in the back and I decided to take it out before I backed the truck into the garage, so I dropped the tailgate, took the carriage out and backed the truck in. I usually have a foot to spare behind the bumper when I back in, so everything was going good...

Until I hit something, HARD, totally stopped the truck! Then I realized I NEVER PUT THE TAILGATE UP . I pulled forward and saw that I poked the tailgate through the WALL . I was afraid to look at the tailgate because the 07+ Tundras have some pretty cheap tailgates, but it held up better than I thought, and it still closes

Its not level across the top anymore:

And the tailgate buckled a little bit, not a lot, but noticeable:

That sucks! I know if that had been me, I woulda saved up the money to get it replaced. But i'm completely obsessed with my car, so that doesn't help me. I scream every time I get a new scratch.

It'll buff out.

You can always call it a "battle scar from off-roading"

The damage doesn't look so bad. It just looks like the trim for the bedliner is deformed. That sucks about the wall though. That's a huge hole.

I hear ya, this truck isn't cheap to drive...but I love driving it! The tailgate cap did bend (plastic) but the sheetmetal buckled a little bit. Its barely noticeable...but damn it I see it .

I'll probabley wait to get it fixed, I always have bad luck when I fix things. I had a Jeep that kept blowing sway bar bushings, I was replacing them every six months, so I paid for new ones a couple of times...then there was a recall onthem.

My wifes Subaru had the front end cracked up, so we paid the deductable to get it fixed and then it just got smashed in again a month later, not her fault so it fixed again, for free....

Oh we'll I'm just rambling

The wall will be easy to fix, I have some decent sheetrock skills. I planned on painting that wall anyways, the previous owner of the house must have hit the wall before anyways!

Maybe you can just replace the black plastic moulding, and have a Paintness Dent Remover (PDR) fix the dent.

It doesn't look bad, but is noticible since your truck is so shiney in the pics.
