Pretty sweet. Berserkeley is pretty bike friendly from what I hear. I think they tried to change all the streets to make it impossible to get around in cars or something once and it was a spectacular failure.
I'm starting to get back on my bike also, but I'm riding an aluminum mountain bike on knobbies around town. I prolly should throw some slicks on there instead. Mine doesn't look nearly as nice as yours despite being almost a decade newer. I've beat the hell out of it in the past 6 years. I've endo twice, locked it to countless parking meters, racks, and poles so it's not in the best condition. I've taken it on the trails, but I've put more miles on it in the urban jungle with city tires than anything else.
Between Aug 2002 and May 2003 I think I put almost 3500 miles on my bike and haven't really kept track afterwards.
I hope you don't get involved in Critical Mass. That thing has really changed and strayed from it's cause compared to 10-15 years back.

yep, berkeley is very biker friendly. a lot of the small streets are southside still have those dumb barricades that divert traffic and essentially send you on a wild goose chase if you don't know your way around the town. that and all the one way streets are annoying.
definitely throw on some slicks on your bike. unless you're crossing dirt, knobbies are absolutely pointless. thanks for the compliments =)

I had Panaracer T-serv. They're not exactly slicks since they have some tread and they're marketed as urban tires. I had 26x1.75. I used 1.5 tires once and it just resulted in me getting pinch flats constantly despite getting tubes that were supposed to worth with 26x1.5 tires. I don't think I rode more than a mile or so with the 1.5 tire. (I forgot what it was but it wasn't a Panaracer tire)
I wanna try to find the blue ones if I can to match my bike. My last set I had to special order and they could only get them in black.
They're a lot easier to ride on compared to the Panaracer Fire XC Pro that's on there right now.
I should prolly ditch my Slime tubes for some regular tubes to shed some weight. I think I've only had two flats in SF and one was caused by a spoke nipple because the rubber liner in the wheel shifted somehow.

Damn a Bianchi too. Nice bike. I'm also in the market of looking for a good road racing bike. I'd like to get my hands on a carbon monoque frame bike, but I got no money for that.
hey bluemeanie (or anyone else for that matter) any idea how much a bike like this can run in terms of resale value?
the wheelset is campagnolo record hubs with mavic g40 rims with shimano 600 cogset in the rear and the brakes are original modolo sporting.

I was contemplating getting into the sport of cycling myself in my spare time back in high school, and even to this day am still considering it as a means of staying in shape and getting where I need to be without having to worry about ridiculous gas prices.
great choice
