TRD S/C INSTALLED!! (finally)

Well i am now officially boosted!!!! After about 12 hours yesterday I am proud to say that the install went fine, except for a few snags, like the belt that came with the S/C was about an inch and a half to big, nearly missed the closing sign @ AutoZone, LMAO! Not enough vacuum lines, or caps, but other than that everything went down with out a hitch and is running fine, and I have not produced a CEL! I hit 4.5 pounds but of Reg. gas. So I am going to drive around today (not boosting) and get down to 1/2 a tank, get some octane booster and fill up with premium. But I digress. I am happy as hell with the blower!

Here are some pics. I wanted to take more, but I was elbow deep in the car for a lot of the time.

Brfore.

With the plenum removed.

Dropping in the S/C.

Idler plate assembly.

S/C final product!

I wish it was.

I ended up using fuel injector cleaner. But this is what you get when you tell your wife not to fill the car with gas because you are installing this S/C. Well guess what, she filled it up with Reg. and when I installed the S/C it was at 3/4 of a tank. and with gas the way it is, I'm sure as hell not draining it. So I had to put something in and i topped it off with 91. I will have to do this again when it hit 1/2 a tank. Right now i cannot boost, or I will hurt something. but I will get vids of it up as soon as it is ready.

i say that because of two things:

1) most octane boosters do not work ... some have been noted as harmful
2) many octane boosters that "do" work only change the tank octane level by a fraction of a percentage

you would be better off draining the gas with a hose (siphon) into a container, and using that for another car if you have one ... and then filling up with 93 oct

also, as a shameless plug (even tho im not involved in the production) - i see youre in STL, you should come to the Import Alliance meet on the 26th/27th here in Nashville if youre up for a roadtrip [check the meets section]
