just installed my new CF hood. got a great deal on it. brand new hood but was scratched and nicked up a little at the warehouse. got this sucker for 125 shipped to my door. i think it looks pretty good...better then i thought it would.
OK...pics!
being a cheap ass hood i guess, i had to do a little modifying to make the damn thing fit.
the damage...
special thanks to ed for the help gettin it on.
plannin to put hood pins on asap and may paint it. as a word to thoes who are buying in the future. C-Wings, as this this hood is labeled, seems to leave out a few key things. hood strut mounts on non existnat but marked as well as the holes for the hood secure hooks. the washer nozzles didnt fit and neither did the holes UNDER the hood for the tubing. all things a dremmel can handle.
C-West, as this this hood is labeled, seems to leave out a few key things. hood strut mounts on non existnat but marked as well as the holes for the hood secure hooks. the washer nozzles didnt fit and neither did the holes UNDER the hood for the tubing.
i remember people who purchased c-west hoods all had that problem. other than that, hood looks good!! what color are you going to paint it?
thanks guys, i liek the look alot better then i thought i would...plus this will be MUCH easier to vent then my OEM one.

looks like it sits a little high from the headlights but i think the pins will fix that. anyways looks like you got a great deal.
oh i also think you should paint the grille black
i would paint the grille black if the hood was black, but as it is its a sort of dark grey...which matches the grille near perfect. but that also depends on the angle at which the light is hitting the hood.

and hood-pins quick! go pick up some aerocatch ones!
i was gonna ask which you had on yours, now i know. i know i need them but i gotta wait till friday...payday. it shoudl hold till then(knock on wood).
i will however be askin ya where ya mounted them. i know it has to be a weird point because of the location of the headlights and grille.
Fitment looks really good man, nice pickup! For sure dont use the hood struts though, that is a cracked hood waiting to happen- bad news! Looks awesome though, I like it!
yeah after i tried to compress one of thoes struts by hand(and it was a worn strut) and it wouldnt budge...i thoought i could live without it.
looked at thoes aerocatch latches and they are pricy. i hate to cheap out on somthing important like that but would a traditional slide pin setup work for what i need? theres a rediculous price differance, unless im missing somthing.
