Cool Got a new toy (RA64 Celica)

I know it's not the right forum but the Celica area is dead and we're all buddies here.

I picked this up yesterday on a whim. It's a 1984 Celica GT, last RWD generation. It's got a 22RE, manual tranny, and hatchback. Completely stock right now. A little bit of body damage but it'll just give me something to practice on.

Without further ado, here it is:

If anyone has any experience or tips with these things at all, let me know.

Say, I have a question too... does anyone know if you can buy spacers that also change the lug pattern from 4x114.3 to 4x100?

Nice, I have an RA24 that's been sitting around waiting for it's makeover. Sigh, not enough time in this world...

RA24s are nice. I'm a bit jealous.

I'll be cleaning it and giving it my typical pre-smog tune-up today.

All four tires are cracked so they'll have to be replaced soon. I don't mind the stock wheels but I'd kind of like to make it the same lug pattern as the AE92. And I'd like to get spacers or bigger wheels on here anyway to spread the wheelbase and flush it out a bit.

I never was much of a fan of the looks of those body styles. I'm sure you can make it look nice though. My favorite Celicas are the 90-93, 94-99, and the first gen celicas are hella nice if you fix them up right, like this one.

The body isn't the greatest style but I'll take RWD over any of the newer Celicas. I'm not necessarily going to make it look nice but we'll see.

I tested the compression today and they were pretty poor: 165, 145, 120, 120. Tired old engine. Coolant shows no trace of oil which is nice.

And yeah, I'm going to be sliding around the desert in this bad boy. Can't do much on the pavement with the low power.

Planning on taking the G-Tech out with it tomorrow and do a few quarter mile runs.
