I don't get the whole covering plates either, thousands of ppl see them everyday when you drive anyway.

I guess it's different if you live in the city, i live in the middle of nowhere and my car is in the garage, unless i'm driving it. So if anyone happens to come around, the dog will bark and let me know, and the car isn't visible.
