It was a perfect day on many levels: the weather was perfect with blue skies and a cool breeze throughout the day (though we did get a crazy windstorm in the late afternoon). Over 30 drivers registered and competed for the event. And no one got hurt and no one wrote off their vehicle.
This event was by far the most enjoyable for me to shoot this year. Ample time to set up, think, and execute shots was such a nice change. Lighting was good for the most part, though the occasional cloud wrecked havoc on white balance in mid shot. It was really fun to try some tracking and dolly angles as well.
Thanks to Nick Dore for the huge hand throughout the day. I also thank those that facilitated the shoot. Thanks to Colin Reeves for access to all spots on the premises. And thanks to the individual who lent us his truck for the high speed tracking!
Great end to the 2009 season.
