I didn't want to carve up the dash and put a switch in it. Didn't want to buy the factory stalk and retro fit either. I am a big fan of anything remote controlled so I started digging. I first ordered in a wireless transmitter & receiver from a local electronics store. It was $75 and a big honking garage door type affair.

I didn't like that so I then did some more digging and came up with one of these off of e-bay http://www.carymart.com/switch/s4c-dc.htm

They have many many variations but this one was cheap and had 4 channels plenty of room for other dodads That is why I put the other lights on it, they are supposed to be white but they seem more purple to me. It comes with two remotes batteries included. I just got it all wired up today, don't know how the long term reliability will be. In the literature they say it is rated for 20amps at 14v. It says 12v lamps rated 60w a channel. I have led fog (900 lumens) lights I haven't seen them anywhere else got them from a police/fire specialty shop. They only draw 10w each. If you were going to run big 50w hid's I don't think this particular model would do the job. It seems that 16g is as big as the terminals would take.

I haven't seen hid fogs up close but these led's are VERY bright they won't strain the electrical system, are dang near unbreakable and they are water proof to 10m. I drove them through some flooded streets shortly after I put them on, no problems.

When I say just wired up today I mean the remote part. I just had a toggle switch until I got the time and nice weather together to do the rest.

I'm curious about the intensity of the fog vs the low beam. Anyway we can see both on at the same time in the same pic?

Sure, I can have them on high also I will try to get a video up in the next couple of days, have a Juco ball game to go to tonight, so probably be tomorrow

I think they are as bright if not brighter than the low beams but only in a small area, the low beams seem to put out more lumens although I haven't dug up the specs.

the best way to see that is to shin the lights up against a white wall.. most ppl use garage door.

Once again my Camera can't do these lights justice. When I mention the trees you can't even see them
You can see the intensity isn't too much less than the high beams. The fogs are go about as high as the "squirrel spotters" while also lighting up the bottoms of the ditches on the shoulders as well. Much more light than any other fogs I have been around. Stands to reason though they are marketed as worklights. I just thought they would make good fog lights. You can get them with different lenses. These are the "spot" lenses.

wow.. looks pretty good. My OEM fog seem to be shinning low and to the side, not sure if that's better in the fog or your way. But yours looks great.

Thanks for the complements I have been really happy with them, they are pricey but if they last half the 50000 hrs they are rated at then they really aren't
