Update on the MK2 1uz Project!

My buddy finished making the motor mounts. Its a very cool design. 6061 aluminum, modular for adjustments and what not. Bolt together design....

Anyways, we pulled the dummy engine and decided to clean the engine bay. Pulled the full body harness, AC/PS stuff, crash bar, bumper etc... The engine bay is so clean now. Rust converting the small amount of rust around the battery area at the moment..

Also for fun, test fitted some wheels he had... I think he will use them. 14x9 and 15x10... with a shit load of lip. looks like 4" and 5" f/r.

You are right, however most of them are just big old heavy slow engines... where as the 1uz is light (weighs less than a 3sgte, 2jz by a long shot etc), cheap as hell... Just gotta pay to play!

hey everyone. My name is kevin, and this is my swap. I figured it was about time there was some sort of update. The engine now has the front sump on it so i could bolt the engine in and see how everything fits. All the electronics are torn off for matts obd2-obd1 conversion on his supra since i will be going stand alone. the internals looked good, to me at least.the car is gutted so matt can stitch weld the seems.we've dropped the rear subframe in favor of using the mk3 turbo rear subframe, beefier and i get 5 lug .

But! pictures are better than words.i'll try to explain with the pics what is going on.
Removing the sound deadening:

Pulled mk2 subframe for mk3

had to cut the front outer bushings off to make it fit under the car

and just seeing where it ends up

when i walk out to the garage, this is what i see

and a little teaser

so, that's it in a nutshell for now. matt and i work on it almost every weekend now.been loads of fun.i couldn't have gotten here without him and my other friends that help me when they can.
