The family's new ride

So, some of you guys know I had a little accident. Well, the car was totaled so the insurance gave me the blue book value of it. So I gave that to my mom so that she can buy a new car for herself, and eventually for the family.

It's a 2010 Nissan Armada. While me and my dad are Toyota fans, my mom's a Nissan fan. I almost convinced her getting the Lexus RX400H, but she wanted a big tank so the Armada was the only choice, plus she hated how the Venza, and the Sequoia looked. She saw the new 4Runner and hated it with such disgust it was funny. But let me tell you, the SUV is HUGE! I feel like Yao Ming stepping over little kids on the road.

So far, we had so much drama with this suv Nissan gave us. I think it was out of jealousy because my parents ordered it through a private dealer instead of through Nissan since they would give us the price and apr my parents wanted and Nissan wouldn't. So far, there's an ant infestation in the car. How they get there, I have no fucking clue, but it's been a pain in the ass for me today to exterminate them all. It wasn't easy, but after 10 hours, I think I managed to get rid of the queen and most of the colony that was living throughout the car.

Second, the security FOB, or remote wasn't programmed by Nissan so I have to go there tomorrow to get that programmed. It's one after another, but after all the problems are worked out, I think it'll be a nice family car to have.

The Sequoia is huge...

The rear handles are too high, how are kids supposed to open the door?

My uncle has one. It drinks gas like water but extremely powerful. Good for towing a trailer with family for a picnic trip to Lake Tahoe and back, not for daily driving ...

I agree. I drove it for a day and I promised I'll fill it up for my mom at the end of the day. It wasn't even at the 1/4 mark and I spent over $50 filling it up and I didn't even filled it up 100%. It's a pretty big suv though, feels like I can just crush those puny cars in front of me. I finally got rid of the ants, took about three days of setting up liquid baits in the car. Damn bastards kept moving around.

My brother-in-law has an Armada and takes it off-road frequently. Only thing about off-road with the running boards is they get in the way. He's bashed and gnarled his boards so badly I'll most likely be helping him remove them early next year. Overall it's a great vehicle for off-roading, but it's hell on mileage too. Guess you can never get everything you want into one package.

^ Very true. It's my mom's car now so I won't bother touching it. Just to change the damn license plate lights is a hassle.
