Video of my IS300-T (kinda OT, but some good clips worth watching)
Hey guys, I've recently made a video of my IS300 on how the car drives with an E-manage Ultimate... It's hard to understand why I made this video this unless you are a turbo IS300 owner or have done research on turbo IS300's in general. With this particular car, it's difficult to make good power on a piggyback tuning system and people always resort to full standalone EMS for tuning; yet, a standalone for the IS300 comes with many sacrifices (high idle, hard starts, unsmooth driving). Their drive-by-wire system, low factory idle, small factory injectors and 5-spd auto demands a lot of features and are often the cause of the issues when people run standalones (which lacks these tuning ability) for those who look for 400+ WHP. The piggybacks on the other hand, usually has awesome idle, driveability, etc.. at low power levels, but once you start increasing injector size, run higher boost, etc.. they develop problems both in boost and out of boost.
I have managed to make this setup work through a unique set of upgrades/alterations, and it is considered a breakthrough. This is probably one of the setups which you can have 400+ WHP, factory driveability and reliability and have no sacrifices at all. This is also the reason why I made this video, mainly to showcase on how the car drives with the setup
always a blast to see vids of your car...but real life is better- we're going to start hanging around your shop more often once the warm weather comes back

but i say tony should upgrade to a HD camcorder. we need some hi-def footage now!
No funding...lol
I also need one which I can edit the videos afterwards.. A lot of the HD videos are difficult to edit, and then recompiled to something that is decent in size and easy to upload... I am open for suggestions really, since I haven't been caught up recently with the HD related video editing software and hardware.
Anyhow, I sold the Supra TT wheels because a buyer was interested in them on Supraforums and he needed them on a urgent basis. One of my tires was loosing air rapidly too so I had to take the tires off the rims to check out what was wrong anyway.
With a little fender work, I noticed my old set of 17" wheels for the Supra from 4 years ago would fit on the IS300... The wheels were very fitment specific, only good for Toyota hub bores, staggered fitment, and the lip was not perfect (some rashes, etc..).. I never bothered selling them at all so they have been sitting in the shop collecting dust. I always believed these wheels were too aggressive for the IS300 until I was reading on a few aggressive wheel fitment threads and notice I am still on the "conservative" side... So basically I scored myself a new set of wheels and it's nice to find hidden treasure...lol
Here's how my car looks now:

No actually, they are just a generic brand name (Ebay). I had them when they first came out 3-4 years ago because I just wasn't quite too fond of the factory Altezza lights. I absoltely love them, and I can't believe how reliable they have been and the LED's are properly controlled by a PWM circuit as well. I actually bought an extra pair of these tail lights, sitting in my basement because I thought the LED's would burn out in like a year..lol

Closed loop O2 refers to the stock ECU constantly trimming or adding fuel based on the O2 sensor signal. The stock ECU is always preprogrammed to target at a strict air/fuel ratio for best emissions and fuel economy, but this changes whenever you plan to turbo the car. By adding fuel through a piggyback tuning device with the ECU still in closed loop mode, the stock ECU instantly trims out whatever you have added and renders the changes useless.
Open loop is when the ECU is running pre-set fuel tables (no fuel trimming/adding and ECU is not sampling the O2 signal). Manipulating the stock ECU and getting it to enter open loop mode will allow proper fueling under boosted conditions.

Thanks The goal is to keep the car looking subtle... It's a car that if anyone in my family needs to drive for emergency, they can take it without much worrying. Although my bro pretty much daily drives this car (but we work in the same place, so it doesn't really mean much..hah).
