3rd Generation Camry: 6P2 vs. 6M1

6P2 was 1996 only. 6M1 was 92-95. Why Toyota switched the color I don't know. Here's some old pics of my 96 6P2 Camry after a claybar and wax compared to a 95 6M1 after claybar and wax.

I first washed the car. Then, I used the "Mother's" clay bar kit, which comes with 2x80g clay bars, 1x a microfiber towel, and the quickdetailer to lubricate. I then applied Meguiars Canaubra Wax with some applicator pads. I took care of the wax/claybar as I do the wash of the car, from top of the car to the bottom, one panel at a time I also used some Turtle Wax long last tire shine and Meguiars Hot Rimz Rim Cleaner.

I was in the middle of doing this, and twice I was approached by neighbours, one said "I always see you with you car!! What are you doing now?" And when I explained, she was like "Can I bring you my car next week?" Another one, who walked by just as I was finishing up was like "Wow, your car looks great!! How many miles does it have on it??" And when I told her, she was floored at how great it looked I love getting compliments for my car

Here are some pics of the car after everything was done:

These pictures were intentionally over-exposed, as to try and capture the shine:

In the rear quarterpanel, it REALLY looked AMAZING, and it was smooth as silk!!

Roof and rear doorThe white residue on the rear window plastic is from a previous polish job in which I didn't tape things up properly

6P2 looks like an aged 6M1 almost.

Interesting....

Hard to see, but 6P2 also has metallic flakes. I just think it's lighter as far as the shade goes in direct sunlight.
