You're killing me, Russ! Thunderstorms like that are a rarity here in SoCal like Allen said, but your pictures remind me of the huge thunderstorms that used to build in Texas and Alabama when I was a kid. Brings back memories of thunder and the smell of wet asphalt.....

Very nice pics there, Russ! We get crazy weather here every now and again, but that would be few and far between.
Thanks Birthday Boy!

Especially texas. They get a beating just like us. Probably more sine they are closer to the Gulf. Lots of moisture to fuel thunderboomers!
No rain as of yet. But lots of thunder. I can see lighning deep in the clouds. If it starts bolting, I'm gonna try and get a pic or 2.
Kev, you know I'm doing this just to tease you
Lightning porn ranks high up on my list, Russ! BTW, I really liked that photo you posted in Scott's thread earlier. That first photo really is a soothing shot, the kind you put on a frame, hang on the wall, and relax just looking at it. Very nice!

Thank You!
I'm gonna try and gettin some shots from the club.
We have awsome sunsets from the the country club. Especially sine we are the highest point in Monticello.I've seen many purple skies. And alot of lightning strikes too.
We lost 2 trees huge pine trees last year to lightning.
And a couple of years ago, a huge lightning bolt stopped just short of hitting very tall pine tree in front of the club. It was about 200 feet from me and I watched the lightning arc and jump thru the other trees next to it. It was awsome!
I couldn't believe the trees didn't catch on fire or explode. They were steaming though.
And to think I was complaining to myself tonight that it's 58 degrees outside..... What was the drive to work like that day, Russ? Scary as hell or just plain insane?

We closed that day because of it.
In fact, probably 75% of all business' closed that day. Even 4 wheel drive has a difficult time on ice.
