Well I wasn't in the Camry that day...

But I actually work my way around. I keep in in Low till the last possible point. I run it up to 7k just to keep it inRPM range a little longer. When It is finally open enough, I go to 2nd and leave it there for most of the time. Unless there is room for an upshift, or so slow that I can benifit from going to first (there have been some 5mph hair pins).

^ i see what your saying, but your doing this in ur "automatic" camry right??.... i mean isnt it kinda harmful to downshift or upshift with 1st to 2nd , or 2nd to 1st in an automatic while in motion????

It's harmful in the sense that it isn't natural for the tranny to do so, and the computer isnt always ready for it. However the ONLY time I do it, is when racing. It is very much needed to have better control over the car. Otherwise, you will NEVER seem me shift through with my car. I baby it on the street

But on the track... It's my bitch!
