Talking 2000 Solara

Hey guys I bought a 2000 Toyota Solara with 57,000 miles last night. I am totally new to the Toyota world .. the Solara has extended 4/48000 warranty and I would appreciate anyone coming fwd who knows about Solara or Toyotas in general to tell me what I should have checked out, maintained, or fixed. Thanks a lot hope to start learning more about Toyota Solara.
Thanks again,

Jegan

oh.. BTW, the only problem that I realized yesterday night was that the dash board light is not laminating the entirely.. I see that the speedometer but not the odometer, it is very very dim. Any advice is appreciated

its definatly a bulb out in the cluster, there are some really good FYI and DIY walkthroughs on bulb replacement, since it is new, you may want to just contact the dealership about it, they should fix that immediatly!

AND WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!

^^^^ Just take your car to Autozone and have them check it out and reset the light, won't cost you a thing unless its more then that.

autozone is a GREAT for doing a brief diagnostic...

HOwever, it might not competly PIN POINT the exact prob. If Autozone doesn't 100% find ur prob, no matter what, u gotta goto the dealer for a thorough check

$80 bucks i think U.S.

Hope that works.

Hey guys I have been hearing alot about the check engine light I got a 2000 V6 SE with 59,000 mile, around what time do you think that I will get that Check Engine light. By the way I changed that plugs at 30,000, I'm running Royal Purple and I cleaned the intake just 2000 miles ago I really cleaned the crap out of it with a tooth brush and intake cleaner =)

Check Engines are reall random, it's hard to tell. They're caused by the malfunction of a component, most common are ones related to emissions control i.e. oxygen sensors or evaporation canisters.

Best way to prevent them is regular and timely maintenance and using quality parts. If you're into performance modifications, it can increase the frequency at which they occur.

ElFumador: Why'd you change your plugs at 30,000? I can't even find the plugs - are they under that big shroud or cover on top of the engine? I got 26,000 miles on mine so should i replace my plugs soon too?
