2000 solara 02 wiring need to know what colors go to what
my o2 sensor has 2 whites a black and a gray but my car has a white a blue and i forgot the colors could someone look on their car and let me know what goes to what please
Make sure you have the right sensor!
If your saying that the wires from the car are blue(signal wire), white (ground) , (2)black(heater). Then that's a type B system.
Your replacement a black(signal wire), gray (ground wire), and 2 white (heater wires).
That's a type d system. It may work but I'd double check that you have the right part. It doesn't sound like it.

i did check and those are the colors and are also the same colors on the one i took out but when i spliced them together i lost track to where the went meaning what color went where would you know so i can hook it up right or the right diagram i dont think the one you sent me is right
i bought the sensor from auto zone and they said it was the right one also colors on sensor matched the old sensor car still runs normal but the stupid engine light wont shut off so i think it hooked up wrong
I'm sorry but you've confused me. Your post says "my o2 sensor has 2 whites a black and a gray but my car has a white a blue and i forgot the colors"
Now you say "those are the colors and are also the same colors on the one i took out"? Which is it? black white gray or blue white black?
Go back to autozone and have them check the error code (it may be a new problem) and see if they can reset it.
If they can't then disconnect the negative battery cable for about 90 seconds to clear the code. Reconnect the battery cable and see if the light returns.
What brand did you buy? They may be able to help you there with an installation instruction sheet. Do you remember the original Diagnostic Trouble Code?

I'll take a stab at what I think your situation is. If original is 1 blue then splice to the new 1 black. Original 1 white, splice to new 1 gray. Original 2 black, splice to new 2 white.
Look at the img I sent.
The Toyota 4-wire. Top left is OE (original equipment) it shows BLUE. The universal replacement you mention to splice into BLUE is Type A BLACK. Notice that the type b replacement is a perfect color match.
