Canada Changing out OEM deck

Hey guys i wana DIY my change out on my OEM deck, however i havent been able to find any info on the net,, i dont wana wreck my dash so i figured i'd as..

Oh yea its a 2001 Solara SE

ANyone know where to get cheap wiring harnesses for the decks in the GTA?

The black plastic piece around the deck is held in by clips. Gently pry it off.

You can get an adaptor from any audio shop.

like phi said, to remove the black trim, pull it starting at the bottom (removing ashtray lets you get a good grip). There are 4 clips holding it in. You will also need to disconnect a few plugs from the back of the trim - clock, hazard, ashtray, cig lighter, Stock headunit held in with 4 bolts. Walmart has the scosche harness you need for cheap. If you have JBL, you will not re-use the wires you disconnect from the stock h/u. Instead, reach in and to the right of the radio and hook your harness into those two white standard toyota radio plugs.

Thanks guys, got it all dont and got a good laugh at the guy that told me it would run around 80 bux to install my deck,, because apparently he would have to run all new wiring to all my speakers.


Ah well its dont and i saved me 80 bux
