2001 Sle

Hey all -

I'm looking into buying a 2001 SLE V6, automatic. Anything I should be on the lookout for? Any known issues? It's really clean, about 30K miles. Black w/tan leather, moonroof, power driver seats. Did this car have an optional handling package? How can I tell?

The SLE has the stiffer suspension they put out. The SE model is like the basic Solara while the SLE is the beefed up model which includes all you can get on a Solara.

suspension is the same. SLE has all the options se has.

I believe the SLE has the better sound system as well (JBL system) Nothing mechanical or anything just small extra optional features.

The SLE and SE are very similar. No suspension or body differences.

the ONLY things are different are the possible options you can purchase: Example: Sun-roof, leather, climate control, traction control.

Other than that, very very similar. I've seen some SE V6's with leather, sunroof, etc. Feels like same thing.

I have an SE with optional TRD body kit, and aftermarket suspension

It has tan leather, JBL 6cd in dash, traction control, moonroof, no side airbags, power driver seat w/lumbar, fog lights.

There has been an interesting story going on so far between me and the dealer as I uncover more 'issues' (none of the dealbreakers, btw). It has aftermarket 15 Konig rims instead of the stock 16s, and no spare. It has also has some minor body work but no accident damage.

I will post up more info in a few days as I start bargaining on price tomorrow (Monday 11/27).

^^ not true. All v6 solara share the same suspension components

JBL option were option for all solara's (my i4 se too has them, its not a SLE limited option)
