stereo installation help!

Hey guys! I'm installing a new Pioneer deck into my friends 2002 Solara with the JBL system... The deck is working fine, but after I installed it, none of the backlights on his dashboard are working... The wiring harness that I got had positive and negative illumination wires, I'm guessing it has something to do with these, but I'm not sure which connect to what... Anyone know what's going on here?? Thanks for any help!!

the illumination wires should not have to be connected to get the dash lights working, something else had to have happened. Did you have the battery still connected during the install??? did you check the fuses to assure that one did not blow? In all honesty thats really what i would look too

hmmm I checked all the fuses the other day and they all looked good... Maybe I need to double check.. Is there a fuse box inside the car, like under the dash? I didn't see one anywhere...

If it's not a fuse, what else could it be? Is there a fuse box inside of the car?

There's a box behind the coin holder.... tilt it down, then lift up and out.
