New to Solara

Well not quite. The car is a 1999 Toyota Solara SLE which has belonged to my mother since 2003 so im not new to them, I've just never had an interest in them before. Since my mother ran the car out of oil and thusly spun a bearing or two...or 6 as the case may be, we decided that im going to do an engine swap on the thing and I just have a few questions for those who are in the know.

Will any other (worthwhile) engines bolt up? (boost prefered)

How much HP can the trans hold?

Bottom end of a stock engine?

Auto To Manual swap? Difficulty? How hard is it to get ahold on a manual tranny for these cars?

I know OF the TDR supercharger, but are there any other worthwhile S/C or Turbo mods that people make?

Just some basic questions that will help me decide weather or not i want to go with a Stock V6, or make some upgrades. Thanks for the info.

Well, if you want boost. Do a 2nd or 3rd gen 3sgte swap. Stock turbo, tons of aftermarket support, extreme potential.

I dunno tranny codes, just get whatever Justin aka the Wraith dropped in his gen2 Camry.
That should suffice. Other than that it'll be a typical auto - manual swap. Basically having to install everything having to do with a clutch system. Dunno about having to install a master/slave cylinder or not, I don't know autos that well.
