99 Solara Heater only works on High

Now i've searched thru the forums and have found that this problem seems to be related to a bad resistor behind the glove box. But I also noticed that most of the time it was for a vehicle other than a Solara. I just wanted to make sure that the problem would be similar on a 99 Solara before I go and buy a resistor.

Also, does anyone know what the exact name of the resistor is when ordering it from a dealer.

Thanks a bunch.

ok, well check that, find out if your fan is actuall turning on at the lower levels. It still could possibly be the switch itself, maybe even the blower. The camry resistor issue was pretty specific to that vehicle and model year. To my recolection, none of the solaras around here have had this issue. Do a little bit more as far as information gathering, and we should be able to poitn you in the right direction.

Resistor

You need to check you blower motor resistor. When on high it bypasses the resistor so the motor get source voltage. When on low any of the other settings it goes through the resistor so the motor can run at different speeds.
