Injen IS2025 on 04~ solara

Injen IS2025 is originally designed for 02,03 camry. but it has been reported that it can be used on the 04~06 camry as well, since they shares the same engine.

I have compared my 04 solara and 04 camry at my house, and i decided to give it a shot and try the injen intake on 04 solara.

I found the item on ebay that has injen pipe with HKS filter, and i just got it installed on tuesday night.
i drove to work for couple days, and i am really satisfied with it.

since my ride is I4 auto, i do not expect any amazing power from it.
and as i expected, i did not feel much power gain from it, but the shifting got much smoother, especially from the first to second.

the dramatic difference was in sound.
it is not very loud when you drive under 3,000 rpm. i can hear the noticeable difference in sound from around 2,000 rpm, but it is not too loud.
around 3,000 rpm it start getting louder, and around 3,300 rpm, it growl.
the tone is deeper at higher rpm like 4,000.

i'm not be able to keep me from flooring the gas especially when i enter to the freeway.

the only down side with this so far is when i am going up a hill
since i4 does not have that much power to begin with, often engine rev up to just above 3,000, and it growl..
it's not a bad thing, but i also like quietness of solara, so sometimes it feels a little too loud..

anyways, it is great so far, and i'm loving it.
i have some pictures on cardomain. so please visit my site if you are interested.
