Oil change question

This is probably a really stupid question - but oh well. How much (quantity) oil is changed out in an oil change?

I've got this idea that I'm going to go up to WalMart and get 100% synthetic oil and change it myself (or have the garage down the street do it). Is the 100% synthetic oil a stupid idea?

Thanks,
Eric

I've got a 2000 V6 Solara, btw

If you car still has low miles, Synthetic is the way to go. If you have something around the 100,000 mile range on the odemeter, stick with old dino-oil.

My 4-cly needs 4-quarts. not sure exactly how much the 6-cly needs. I think its 5, but make sure with someone here.

I have a SE V6 Auto and I'm pretty sure that it's 5 quarts. You can check your owners manual too. Or if you are doing it yourself, just dump in 4 quarts and check the dip stick to see how low you are.

To be precise:
5sfe (4 cylinders) needs 3.8 Qts
1mzfe (6 cylinders) need 4.6 Qts.
