2nd Generation Solara Gen 2.5

The new 2007 Solara Gen 2.5 starts production in the next week at the Georgetown, KY plant. (Supposed to be mid-May according to production schedules) Have any of you insiders seen the car yet? I've heard it's the "sportiest" Solara yet. That the mid-model change was pretty elaborate for a car that only has a couple years left of production.

Other items due to change:
- Headlights
- Tail lights go to LED
- Backup lights are moved from the tail cluster to in the bumper. (Near license plate?)
- No change from the 3.3L V-6 (Darnut)
- Front and rear bumpers
- Grilles
- Possibly a change to the fog lights. (Unconfirmed)
- Interior: Unknown

Yeah, that sounds about right. Most changes are cosmetic. I'm asuming the interior will maybe have a different trim pattern, or the steering wheel might have an extra ammentity.

I wonder how those tails are gonna look. Same with the headlights - they still look so modern. lol

USA 2007 Solara Release Date?

I'm interested in buying a 2007 Solara Convertible. Is there an estimated release date?
Thanks for any information given.

Hey Phreaked - I've got Lon over at TundraSolutions.com looking up his Toyota press release gallery for photos too. He usually gets them before the brochures are printed, so hopefully we'll see some soon! I'm all over swapping out parts where I can on my '06!

I have a deposit on a 2006 convertible that is due in this week. I got $1,800 off of list price. Now that I hear that the 2007's are almost ready to ship, I'm starting to wonder if I should have waited for a 2007. I'm sure that the price would be quite a bit higher.

yeah it changed recently. all I know is that they now have a standard rear lip spoiler, and they won't get the 3.5L 2GR-FE either. they should be coming to dealers fairly shortly i think
