2005 Solara SE Sport w/ seat spotting problem

Hi all, I am new to this site. I love the Solara, it now has 28k of fun miles on the odometer. Unfortunitly, I am having a problem with the front seats. The seats are the sport cloth seats, black/gray in color. The problem statred about a year ago when I started to see spots on the front seats. They arent stains, because I had the car detailed, and they were not removed. The spots are on the edge of the seat, circular in shape, and appear to be uniform. The dealer had no idea why the seats were doing this, and replaced them at no charge, but told me they would only do this one time. Unfortunitly a year later, and the spots are coming back. You can only see the spots if you are in certain light conditions. Has anyone had this same problem? Does anyone have any suggestions of how to resolve this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thats sounds like a good dealership. To offer free cloth replacement due to a stain/residue/blemish. Most places would say it is normal wear and tear and they can't do anything about it.

Regarding the seat, make sure your windows are shut complete over night. Due to the cold nights, and warmer days, it could lead to condensation, humidity, etc.

Also I noticed, certain jeans leave residues as well over time. Blue jeans.

Another option may you might consider getting it Steamed Cleaned instead of getting your chairs sprayed on with shampoo, swirled around and sucked at. I used to work at a detail shop. That method is ok. the best imo, steam clean professionally.

Car still under warranty. Have the dealership order you new seats.

Ask the dealership, tell them if this is the issue with them already, what reliability concerns will you have with the rest of the car! When you say circular patches, do you have heated seats?

I thought for sure I was the only one with this problem. I too have the sport couple with the fabric seats (black checkerboard). I've only had my 2006 for 8 months and I have these small spots that look like rain spots. I tried washing them off with a mild detergent with warm water and I still couldn't get rid of them. Did you ever get yours off? I just posted this same problem a few minutes ago before I saw your thread.

Same problem here too. My dealer won't do anything about it though. They said they won't replace the seats unless the stitching were coming loose...
