Hey well I surely hope that you don not just change the springs only as over time you will bottom out and you ride will become vary shitty.

I use a combination of TRD/Bilstein shocks and struts and TRD/Eibach springs.

Just so you know Bilstein makes the TRD shocks and struts and Wibach makes the TRD springs all TRD does is put their name on them.

My setup lowers me 1.6" in the back and 1.2" in the front.... I beleive teins will lower you a bit more in the front at 1.7" all around correct me if I'm wrong.

Choice is yours... have fun deciding.

more feedbacks!

thank you very much for the feedback! Im new to all of this so Im always learning somethin new....and this is why im at this forum . I will definitely look into gettin shocks but rite now Im tryin to decide on either TEIN or Eibach springs. Im lookin for quality and comfort and whichever lowers the car more... so feedbacks from any SOLARA owners w/ these springs would be great! thanks!

Most bang for your buck is Tokico and Eibach.

Ride will feel much better than stock with that combo... And dont worry, its not soo stiff that its not comfortable. Looks good, and enough performance for a daily driver.

Had this combo since summer 2003. Still good today.

I would agree with the Tokico/eibach combo, but you could also do Tein/Tokico.. or save up and do coilovers. JIC and Tein both offer these, they are a full suspension system.

I have the Tein coilovers on my ride (month and a half now). I drive it daily, in NYC (pothole capital of the world), and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Its stiff, but forgiving, and my car is dropped a quaint 2 inches all around.
Oh yeah, did I mention 16 way adjustable dampening?.... my fronts are set to 9, I like it a little stiff because of the engine weight.

i've always hated coils myself.... but i don't know now. i hear a lot of good things about them on the solara. who knows what i'll get. im leaning towards eibach for spring b/c we were at their warehouse about 2 months ago...

Stepping up to JIC or Tien Coilover systems =
Priced a bit higher, but its does what you pay for.

You got the RSB on the Solara too sydemoid?

no rsb....

honestly for my daily aggressive driving, I dont feel the need for it, the dampening settings keep everything in check.

I wanna do the poly bushings though.

^^ this above comments aren't true. The life of your stock sturts after lowering depends on how good the struts were before lowering. there is a big conviction of people here at toyotanation and at solaraguy (bigger solara forum) that you 'NEED' to replace both at the same time. Yes for some people it is a cheaper alternative, cus they don't want to incur labor cost (two times). But i'm one of those who proved a lot of people wrong. I have trd springs (which are rebranded eibach's) and i have stock struts. I've added close to 45K miles on this setup and STILL GOING STRONG. Others have sat in my car and didn't notice the 'PRESUMED' symptoms of worn out struts (bouncy effects, car bottoming out).
I know in time the stock sturts will give out and at that time i plan to replace them with tokico's. But the last 45K miles have been good unlike what others 'PRESUME' here. This is a common rhetoric i see people claiming here..i just wanted to give you 'FIRST HAND IMPRESSION' not heres-say from what people read on forums.

hey exit, eibach and tein are very reliable, i personally have eibach springs on my 01 solara. the drop isnt drastic, but u can still notice the difference. if you have a little more money to spend and want to drop your car lower then i suggest go for coilovers. either jic or tein.

yea right now TEIN is what im leaning towards to only because it lowers a bit more and its more available in my area..but im hoping ride is still comfortable. Im prolly goin to stick in gettin these springs and replace my shocks later. I could possible look into coilovers but maybe later on. So you guys think TEIN would be aighht?? no problems w/ anyone? Thanks for the replies guys!
