Do you have to keep the factory pop-up wind deflector? Mine has a slight rattle (as did the the one on my old 2003 Solara). I have installed the after-market Wind Deflector now and want to know if I can just take the factory one off?

As for the rattle, I am convinced it is because the springs are just not strong enough to push it up hard enough to make it not rattle from vibrations slightly.

Anyone?

No you could remove the factory window deflector, i don't see it causing any problems

Ugh, I just bought my sister's 2002 Solara, and while I love the car - it's in great shape, I hate that rattling deflector. You're probably right about the springs. Going to see if I can put something stronger in there.
