04 Solara rear logo question

I would like to remove the cursive Solara logo on the rear of my '04 and replace it with the newer spread out S O L A R A lettering. Has anyone done this and does anyone have advice for doing it correctly?

I also got the new sport badge to replace the SE on the lower right trunk lid and when I remove the cursive Solara logo I will remove the toyota logo from the lower left completely - provided there are no holes left over.

tia!

The solara logo and the toyota symbol have holes behind them, the SE and related badges are just stick on.

The cursive have pins, and the spread out letters do not.

So they use different trunk lids when they make the cars? When/if I remove the cursive logo couldn't I cover the holes with the new lettering?

Thanks for the replies!

Same trunk lid. Yes, if placed right you could cover the small holes....

Here is a guy's trunk after the lettering removal.

Or go for it all the way, shaved emblems, smoothed lid and filled in spoiler.....

Why would you want to do something like that? I can understand wanting to take it off completely, but the S O L A R A lettering is C R A P looking! The cursive Solara is so much classier. If I have to have the word on the back of my car, let it be cursive.

A convertible would look insane with a look like that, I was about to buy one but decided to get a tundra instead of something we already have.... another solara...

I also prefer the non-cursive solara writing.

Essentially, you cna take off everything except the emblem, and the word solara. But I am 60% sure that if you remove the words solara in cursive, you can replace the spaced out solara right over top the guide pin holes, so you won't see them. make sense?

What do you think is the best way to align it just right. Nothing would be worse than lettering not propertly aligned (with the holes and straight across. I was thinking taping the strip that the S O L A R A comes on (as it is aligned on there) and then using a fine grease pencil to mark the position and height on each letter. Then, hopefully, wiping off afterwards.

Anything else that I might be missing?

thanks in advance
