2008 Solara Sport

It looks like the wife and I might be getting ready to get another ride (on top of the Tundra we just bought). I'm looking at a Blizzard White 4-banger Sport and want to know opinions on the car. I'm really diggin' the factory HID and LED tails. Anything I should be particular cautious of? Like and dislikes?

Just be sure the 4 banger meets your expectations and needs for power based on the kind of driving you expect to do. If it's economy you're after then by all means go for it. Also check out the assorted trim levels. You 'might' discover a factory accessory on an SLE (roughly a grand more) that you'll wish you had later....or not.

Whatever trim level the Solara is a terrific car.

Cheers

I am going for economy. I may go the route of a Civic as much as I don't want to...I want to stick with Toyota. Plus, this car is beautiful in color (Blizzard White with black cloth interior) and although the only option is a sunroof, it looks awesome with the Xenons and LEDs. 4-cylinder is all the power I'll need, especially since 90% of the mileage will be highway.

I have 06 solara 4 cylinder. No complains at all, very reliable (no single issue since new to 30K miles now), power is adequate especially if you do lots of highway (I get average of 29mpg mixed driving 30% bumper to muper traffic and 70% highway).
The only complain is interior has slight rattling noise came from the rear deck/reap speaker plastic holder (very minimal).
If they still put bridgestone RE92 there, try to get them to swap it for you. They are the worst tire I ever had in my life and lasted 24K miles only. And also aks your wife to drive it first, blind spot and parallel parking (could not see the back of the car because of the sloped down trunk design) are quite bad in this car.

Overall, I love my solara

Thanks for the summary and especially for letting me know on the parrallel parking issue. My wife has a hard enough time parking the Tundra (already dented the damn thing). Right now I'm looking around for us since we are still waiting to hear back from that job. It's either the Solara Sport or a Honda Accord Coupe EX 4-banger...I like the color and everything else about the Solara better.

Are you talking about the new Accord Coupe 4-banger? It's O.k. in looks since it looks like a Saturn LS.
