Exclamation !!!HELP!!! my 1mz fe gets 18mpg

I noticed my poor milage a while ago. since then I have tried...

Replace air filter
cleaned the MAF
used a fule cleaner (about 5 times)
replace the plugs
replaced the wires
Changed the oil (synthetic as always)
Changed the Tranny fluid

I am thinking it might be the cat. I dont have any lights on, and
the ecu isnt throughing any codes. Its an automatic and I don't
drive it hard, just average daily driving. I used to get high 20s,
and the price of gas lately 10 mpg is a real big deal.
what kind of gas milage are you guys getting in your 1mz fe 3.0 v6s, and
any ideas why my mpgs are so low???

I get about 25-28 mpg with a good city/highway mix supercharged. You should definitely be getting better mileage... fuel filter perhaps?

I don't think any one replaces the fule filter as offton as recomended. I think I might give that a shot. I did it once when I first got the car, who knows.

I didn't mention in my original post but my car is lowered 1.6". I would think that it would help fule economy via less drag.

well since then I have tryed something I should have thought of a long time ago. I got gas some wher besides my normal place. I always use 93 and since the new station Ive been getting much better millage my avg now is 26 mpg. I think I am a victim of watered down gas.

If I drove aggressively I would expect lower mileage. However, since I do drive "easy on the pedal" I am concerned about the low millage. As for the trunk. Its empty, much like the thought you gave to this response.

Thanks for nothing!

Remove all the weight in your trunk, or the stuff you don't need... This will get a 2mpg increase. Also are you using low friction synthetic oil? Try to get pure acetone. Fill your tank to 3/4, and put in (pure acetone only)about 2 ounces every fill-up... You will get at-least a extra 10mpg. Check those tires.... Your pcv valve, or oxygen sensor.

Thank you
The only symptoms are:

1) Bad gas millage
2) Sluggish acceleration
a. On the road if I try to go from 30mph to 40mph The engine revs to like 3500 but I get to 40 very slowly. (like a small truck hauling a big boat)
Has anyone with a Solara, Camry, Privia, Avalon, or any other 1MZ FE based 3.0L had a problem like this before??

I checked the plugs again. A little oxidized, I replaced them with Iredium NKG
Engine is ideling smoother and I'm up to 21 MPG.

I was using the NKG split fire platinum plugs, it is the same plug that was in there from the factory, but these didn't last as long they were gray on one side and tan*ish orange on the other. I think this means detergint in gas.

I don't think the plugs are the only problem, so I ordered some 8.5mm Magnecor wires hopefully this may help.

I really did think more people would have responded.
