Look to the ignition coils. The three coils in the front provide spark for the cylinder they sit on top of as well as a cylinder on the opposite bank connected via a high tension wire. The front coils sit on cylinder #s 2, 4, and 6, so trace the wire from the coil on 6 over to the other side and see where it goes. If it ends up on cyl 3, you have a good idea that the coil may be at fault.

Another strategy you can take is to clear the codes, swap coils, and take it for a drive to see if the code moves with the coil.

i looked online and some autoparts sites say it has 3 coils and some say 6?

is it direct ignition?, distributorless?

because its being looked at right now and i imagine your right

I have a 99 Solara and I started getting similar codes most of the P300's codes are related. In my case I was also getting a foul smell, rotten eggs, in the car. Turn out to be O2 sensor after the catalysis. A user manual and a mulitmeter make life easy when you have codes to work with. The manual outlines the steps for trobleshooting each code and provide specifications for each sensor.
