engine is the same but there are differences in the engine bay. From what I've heard (I haven't confirmed because none of my friends have a tc) some pump is located on the right side for the solara but it is on the left side for the tc. You'll mostly be looking at clearance issues if you get a tc supercharger and stuff I think.
as for CAI.... just get a cheap ebay one and buy a k&N filter. cheapest and best way to go... they're just polished pipes with a cone filter stuck on.
Best way to make power right now... is the classic bolt ons. I/H/E...
after that i'd move on to cams, cam gears, underdrive crank pulley, raising compression ratio, racing torque converter (if you're auto), etc, etc.
finding parts will be a lot more difficult as compared to the TC and hondas. Even compared to celicas.
But hey.... that's what makes it original. How many accords and civics do you see running around? Now how many well tuned solaras do you see?
